My girlfriend made Thanksgiving dinner again this year. She had a pounding headache the entire time. She is a champ.
My dad and his girlfriend came down to join in the festivities. From first impressions, the new girlfriend is nice and quirky and seems to compliment my dad well.
Sitting around doing nothing during the holiday made me extremely anxious. It was a harsh transition from how busy I have been, and I guess I felt like I was wasting time. We watched Super 8 and Limitless. I liked Limitless. It was pure fun in the vein of Crank, but disguised as “a thinker.” Super 8 was good in a boring, soft white bread, E.T. kind of way.
Mostly, it was good to see my dad.
Anyways, my girlfriend’s headache turned into a fever and throwing up over the weekend. We went to the clinic today and she is negative for the flu or strep. Although she seems to be slightly better today, she has only kept down a half piece of toast in the past two days. Understandably, I am worried. I hope I do not have to take her to the hospital.
I just bought a used Paiste 2002 ride cymbal online. Like thirty minutes ago. I don’t have the money for it, but Visa does. Anything is better than the ZBT crash/ride that I’ve had for ten years. Hopefully, it is here by the time my band goes on tour.
After tour, I plan on going to Japan.
That’s a lot of time off work.
And I have a Paiste cymbal to pay off.
Oh, and rent.
In other news, I’m sad that The Farside is effectively finished. Though, I’m not as heartbroken as some people. I guess, it’s not technically done, as a few people hope to continue the collective, but I don’t see that happening. The fact that it was a sober space was not as important to me as it was for others. It is the family atmosphere I will miss most. It’s difficult for me to hang out with people without some structure. I should work on that.
Overall, I’m very excited for the Farside founding fathers to open up a new venue. I think it will be rad.
Tomorrow is a lot of work. I took a long nap, so I’m not tired, but will regret if I stay up late.
