TODAY
Worked this morning at my newish job as an English tutor. I’ve been feeling abnormally anxious and guilty after telling a few people the wrong way to use semi-colons. Although, I was only slightly wrong. I may have also drilled commas after an introductory clause, phrase or word too much. It’s not always needed.
Sometimes I see so many papers I go cross eyed. What are these squiggles? It’s like a ton of tiny black insects infected pieces of computer paper. They jump around and form incoherent sentences and words.
I’m getting better at it.
Took the ole’ saw and hammer out and fixed the shelf, midget bunk bed monstrosity that was pre-built in my bedroom. It is now a respectable desk. I guess you have to see it to understand what I am talking about.
Then I interviewed Ginger from Traveling (and more famously Good Luck and One Reason) for the Farside Newsletter. It’s a little late this month, but I’ll kick people’s butts to get it published this week.
Went to a show tonight and saw Fruit Flesh: catchy and more raw than the reverb and delay laden album; Dream Love: Blown-out hipster disco that was interrupted by a very unexpected experimental act with spoken word; Gospel Music: They’ve probably heard it before, but they sound like Moldy Peaches; and Holiday Shores: insanely talented musicians who owe a lot to Grizzly Bear and Billy Joel.
There you have it.
Tomorrow is essentially work from 7 am to 11 pm.
